"Vicious Lips" Where I watched it: Tubi From z-movie legend Albert Pyun, "Vicious Lips" is the story of a female glam rock group (called "Vicious Lips") trying to get to a gig that's on another planet. This is barely a movie. It's more like 3 or 4 music videos that are strung together by scenes of extremely boring dialogue. The sound mixing is particularly bad in mostly all of the scenes with dialogue. At times, people's voices will pierce your eardrums, and at others, they are an inaudible muffle. To be fair, the glam rock songs are pretty rad. After setting course for the gig in their spaceship, they soon crash land on a desert planet where there is a manbeast of some sort. Ever so slowly, this creature works its way from the outside of the ship to the interior, where it chases the band members around for a bit before... SPOILER: it gets pulled out of frame by a different manbeast and never appears again. The movie ends about 5 minutes after ...

"Terrifier 2" Where I watched it: Blu-Ray Let me just start by saying that I didn't really care for the first one. It was extremely dragged out and fell short of the hype that accompanied its release. In many ways "Terrifier 2" has the same problems as the first one. This movie is almost 2 and a half hours long. In what world is that necessary for a slasher flick? In true homage to the campy classics of yesteryear, "Terrifier 2" follows a psychotic murderer (who may or may not have supernatural abilities) as he murders victim after victim in increasingly gruesome ways. The protagonist, a "Final Girl," goes through all the clichés as "Art the Clown" comes after her and her friends/family. The acting in this is pretty bad, although it might be an intentional choice to add to the throwback vibes of a late 70s/early 80s slasher flick. The mom of the main character is the worst. "The Dare" Where I watched it: Netflix "The Dare" is a Saw knockoff about a guy wearing a Slipknot mask who has 4 prisoners locked up in his basement. He periodically comes down and makes them stab each other... or on occasion makes them eat bugs and other weird shit. The film alternates between the present day and a flashback of when Slipknot mask guy was a child. Basically the exact same thing happened to him when he was a kid, he was abducted by Richard Brake and held captive in a basement until he got Stockholm syndrome and learned to love his captor... until eventually he learned to unlove his captor and dunked him in an acid bath made for pigs (what is this device and how does it make any sense to have one at a pig farm??). But you can't escape true love it would seem as this kid takes on the role of his abducter in his own adult life. But... there's a twist and of course it's really stupid. The prisoners that Slipknot guy has captured are all kids...
